What are the five considerations to effective
copywriting for a radio or TV commercial?
1.
Use short and conversational sentences.
It will be easier for the
audience to absorb more information about the product as it conversational and
makes it sounds familiar. It is more comfortable for the audience as it is not
too serious kind of ads.
2.
Focus on the product’s unique selling points and big idea.
Mentioning about the product’s
USP will make the product more stands out as that is the reason of the uniqueness
of the product. Big idea as the guidelines on how the radio advertises the
product.
3.
End strong with call to action.
After all the facts and
story, the ads will be closed with the call to action. The advertiser has to
come up with a strong call to action. It is to recommend or advise the audience
to giving their respond or do something towards the product.
4.
Use the relevant music and sound effect.
Using a relevant music and
sound effect that is related to the ads will give more colors to the ads. But
however, do not overdo on the music and sound effect as it could reduce the ads
quality.
5.
The length of the ads.
Be good on managing the
time. Audiences could not rewind back to the part they missed. Therefore, the
announcer could talk in ease without squeezing all the word, however, the
announcer still has to manage the time well. Such as, the ad has to stop 0.5
seconds earlier that the ads spot.

I think Maya had pointed out really great tips that we can all apply in the future. However I think there are more that we can add to. Advertisers can target a certain audience for their advertisement. A advertisement that is created for their preference because it is difficult to target the entire public as everyone is in a different age group, preferences etc.
ReplyDeleteOn top of that, I think visuals play a big role in TV ad. Creating something that is rare and unique can actually help the message of the ad to be remembered even better. Meanwhile for the Radio. Choosing a good voice is the utmost important. People with good pronunciation so that the message will be delivered clearly. And most important people that has a voice filled with emotions. Cause radio is all about voice. If the person could not portray the correct emotion no matter how good the content of the advertisement is, it still will not be captivating to the audiences.
Joey.
The tips that Maya provided are good.I agree with Joey that it is important that announcer has good pronouncation and good voice that will attract the audience to listen to. Also, every sentences they read should have monotone based on the theme of yhe advertisement.
ReplyDeleteBesides, it is important that radio advertisement has a good lead to begin the advertisement or a good start of music to attract the listener. Besides, TV commercial advertisement also need to provide a high quality of video. Advertiser should make sure that the video are edited completely and perfectly. And also, the advertiser should watch the ad as a audience to evaluate if the ad is persuasive and attractive to the audience.

ReplyDeleteThese tips are really spot on Maya! I also have to nod my head in agreement to Joey and Elyza's comments. Advertisers should understand their customers's demographics well, in order to create an ad which can reach out to them. That way, they can also decide which kind of voice shall the advertisement use in order to attract customers.
ReplyDeletetip of the hat to you maya. youve just made me 10x smarter with this :D
ReplyDeletebrilliant stuff!
Well pointed out tips given by Maya. As it is being said in advertising so many times, use short and interesting sentences for people to be interested in the ad within seconds. Lengthy video ads are not recommended in my opinion because people would not want to watch a long ad, myself included that’s because it is a waste of time watching an ad for 2 minutes. Just go straight to the point with all the USP and the benefits of the product.
